Labor Of Love: Park Named In Honor of Breast Cancer Survivors

LITTLE ROCK,AR- The "Pink Garden" opened Saturday afternoon across from Mabelvale Elementary.

Organizers say the area where the park sits now was once so overgrown with brush you couldn't even see it.

Now the Mabelvale students are able to use the park for their physical education.

City Director for the area Joan Adcock is a cancer survivor herself.

"Through the park you see benches of different colors, each color represents a different cancer. So the whole park brings to mind early detection," Adcock said.

The Arkansas Parks Department also had a big hand in creating the garden.?
