It took three different fire departments to tackle a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Sand Springs.
There were no reported injuries. However, the home is destroyed. The family is just thanking God no one was home at the time of this fire.
"It's just a hurdle," said Gregory Griffin, the homeowner.
Right now, he is fighting to get over it. Griffin told FOX23 years ago, he watched as the home was built and Wednesday watched it burn. He lost his book collection, his dog and his goldfish.
"What's going through your mind right now?" asked FOX23's Dontaye Carter.
"There's always tomorrow and what does it hold," Griffin said. "Today wasn't too good."
Sand Springs firefighters say they they're not sure what caused the fire but say it could be electrical. They spent an hour trying to put the fire out. A fire captain says the flames were through the roof and burned out the back windows.
Yet, this family says they have so much more to be grateful for.
"I'm healthy. My wife is healthy. We can rebuild and move on in life," Griffin told FOX23. "The next step is to thank God that we're still alive and pray for another day to continue living and doing the best we can."
The family said they were supposed to have a Bible study at their home Wednesday night. They joked about having it out in the front yard but say they will find somewhere to have it.
